Behind the Image

by Konrad Bartelski

Shot in Torres del Paine, Patagonia, Chile. A Scottish writer, Lady Florence Dixie, published a book Across Patagonia in 1880 which gave one of the first descriptions of the three towers of the Torres del Paine.

Since then, it has been an alluring attraction to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who flock to these dramatic geographical formations every year. These peaks are monumental by their presence and there must have been millions of photographs taken here over time, yet that the morning mist was still clearing, which beautifully enhanced the brilliant textures of the granite walls.

Over the next days the Towers never seemed to look the same as on this very special morning.
