Leaving behind the harsh cold and damp upper reaches of Shingo La Pass (5090m), one can find shelter into the serene and expansive view of Zanskar Valley, a high altitude semi-desert lying on the Northern flank of the Great Himalayan Range. A climatic barrier protecting Ladakh from most of the monsoon, its landscape abounds with rivers meandering through deep ravines and narrow trails running through the multi-hued mountains.
