Adab Shah Gouhari, a descendant of Afghan royalty, rides a stallion across the high Pamir mountains of the Wakhan Corridor in Northern Afrghanistan.
He acted as my guide and negotiator on an expedition in search of the source of the famed Oxus river across what is known locally as the Bam-i-Dunya - the 'roof of the world'.
