About the Photographer

Desirée Patterson is a Canadian photographic artist, currently living on the unceded territory of the Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam and Squamish Nations, in Vancouver, BC.

Upon witnessing many exhausted environments and impoverished situations on her travels, Desirée dedicated her practice to creating visual art that cultivates awareness of the environmental issues that threaten a sustainable future and social justice. Her compositions often feature organic elements and synthetic imagery pensively fused together to offer insight into the ultimate disconnection between the natural world and the humans who inhabit it.

Her unique aesthetic has gained recognition with local curators, journalists and art collectors. Her work is exhibited in both commercial and public galleries, with private collections held locally as well as internationally in Los Angeles, Singapore, London, New York, Hong Kong, and Toronto.
