About the Image

by Ana-Maria Pavalache

The idyllic landscape of the Schwarzsee (Black Lake), surrounded by magnificent mountain and rolling hills, is legendary: One can easily dive into the world of mythical creatures, forest animals and the magical interaction between man and nature. The name of the Black Lake comes from the legend of a giant, who ventured there to wash his feet. The water is a deep blue color, which tends to darken with more of the sun's light. Located in the middle of the mountains, Schwarzsee is especially famous for its location in the Fribourg Alps, where the glaciers have left a big hollow.
